The Story So far...

Koombi construction was formed in 2004 to project manage the construction of private villas along the south coast of Sri Lanka. At that time a great deal of properties were being developed and certain problems were being encountered. A large number of the properties were owned by people who lived outside Sri Lanka and therefore could not oversee the work carried out. Typically the problems were wide ranging such as;

1. Securing building permits and permission from the local building authority.
2. Selecting competent contractors
3. Quality control
4. Accountability

The services offered proved very popular to the absentee owners and the company undertook several projects along the south coast, initially obtaining the necessary building permits. Unfortunately before any of the projects really began in earnest Sri Lanka was struck by the Asian tsunami and all work was halted. As a result of the tsunami Koombi was asked to assist in various aid programs. This would involve the rebuilding of local private dwellings as well as renovation work on 2 small local hospitals.
To date Koombi has been involved in the construction of approximately 250 houses with repairs to about the same number. The work on the two hospitals was also completed.
The company is now back on track managing the construction of private villas along the south coast. At present we are involved in the construction of nine villas from Weligama to Tangalle, some of which can be seen on the projects page.
