Koombi Construction was approached by the Netherlands Red Cross in June of 2006 to manage and oversee the building of 75 houses for victims of the 2004 tsunami, these houses where to be built on land owned by the beneficiaries themselves, meaning 75 separate sites. This project started in October 2006 and was extended in May 2007 to include 21 additional beneficiaries increasing the total amount of houses to 96. This project was completed in October 2007.
